DPEmerald 22 Report post Posted August 12, 2009 Amen to that. Although the snares were awesome people sometimes forget that their tenors were sick, sick, sick. Awesome! Here they are!
byline 71 Report post Posted August 12, 2009 A couple more up high. Bayonne prelims 1982BTW, these were shot by Ed Ferguson. Bridgemen had a nice drill that year. Normally I wouldn't say that because, for the most part, drill wasn't really their forte; everything else was!
mobrien 525 Report post Posted August 12, 2009 (edited) Early 81. Those drum covers. Wow.They got rid of them by Whitewater. When the Pearl drums were delivered mid-season, the covers went away. In retrospect, I think the TDRs marched early season were a combination of a couple different finishes - some in a light grey wrap, others in white, which the neon orange/green covers kept hidden. Whether the cure was worse than the disease is open to debate. Edited August 12, 2009 by mobrien

TrainWreck 59 Report post Posted August 13, 2009 (edited) Sweet pictures! You can see Wayne Downey on the track in the white shorts. I could probably pick out all of the staff. Wayne will either have his hands cupped over his ears or, as in the shot of the company front, both arms up in the air jumping wildly. Sweet! I'm on the very end left side. This is the company front right after the closing of the gate turns in re-entry. Doing the gate-turns and company front was a pain. Fortunately, it was after the gun went off. This is the middle of One More Time. Soloists aren't up front yet, so must be the Sop feature. End of Pegasus, beginning of Paradox. You can see the wings taking the wings off. The end of the opener with those killer snare parts before the BOP....BOP.....BOPBOP Edited August 13, 2009 by TrainWreck

I'm sure they were a pain to pull off, but they remain one of the all-time great corpsgasmic experiences for the audience!
