lindap
I must add to Brian's (Jocko) accolade: Linda, your collection and the mere fact that you were able to amass such a collection from your youth during your youth is just beyond amazing! Thank you and continued kudos. Thanks to you and Brian for your kind words With respect to the Alberta All Girls collection I'll pass along the kudos tomorrow. Our reunion committee is having a dinner meeting to plan a visit to a drum corps contest 2012 To be honest, I have drum corps scrapbbooks from 1969 - 1972, a few items from 73, one or 2 74 and 75, quite a lot from 76 and in 77 I took a camera on tour, kept a log, collected and made a huge 1977 scrapbook. Why was my collection scant 73 - 75? um ... those were the me-and-my-boyfriend years ... i was kinda busy I've really enjoy viewing this thread; it's a pleasure to contribute and I look forward to viewing more photos from others. Kudos to all contributors and their collections Thanks for photographers! A 1972 drum corps show, we did 50 shows in 1977, some on fields, most were like this photo. What a wonderful experience! lindap
What are the last six girls carrying in their left hand? It looks like a piece of styrofoam. And why do they have a different uniform? In 1972 AAG had 2 corps A and B. They wore different uniforms. A won the Moose Jaw Band Festival in May. A and B did lots of parades in July and A won the Calgary Stampede parade. In August A performed in England, Edinburgh Festival and lighting of the Olympic flame ceremony in Munich. A took 7 B girls to Europe. The 2 letter a’s later marched tympani and letter e was bass drummer in 77, 6 years in the drum line from B to A, aged out in winter guard 1981. Late August 1972, B won the PNE parade. 7 letter girls from B at Trafalgar Square with A! Oh my; almost forgot my bucket password posting on DCP, lol. The 7 letter girls from B! Would you like to dance?

lindap
Thanks for the explaination and two great photos! You never know what you will learn from this thread. BTW, They all look like they are having a great time. They were an organized organization. In 1977 Pam and I said they could win All Girls at DCI. One girl asked 'What's DCI?' We kept going 1978 and 1979 and went to finals. They had a great time all 10 years. Thanks baja :)
