susantaylor40
Joel Alleyne, former DM of EOC, in far better attire as corps director :P
huskerman15
This thread is awesome! Can I make a request for George N Parks being drum major for the Reading Buccaneers way back when? He was insane on the podium and incredible at mace I think it was late 60s, early 70s...

I'm sure it's on tour (or maybe at camp), but is that an apron? Was he serving lunch or something? Lord knows, Joel did it all. . . . susantaylor40
Ok... one more of "section rehearsal" or also know as stripping and cleaning the drums. As you can see, we were working VERY HARD. b**bs

I don't remember that we went anywhere out of town for camp in 80. Regards, John
sarnia sam
Our beloved sarnia sam at Ontario Individuals in 1979 <{POST_SNAPBACK}> And all this time I'm thinking - well, at least you gave that picture of me at individuals to me a few months ago; so it won't end up on DCP. Ha! That was 1980. Also one of the last public functions those uniforms were worn. I had the highest percussion score, all classes, at prelims. I think Bill Renaud had a higher score that night, on snare. 25 years later, I can still make a camera lens go all blurry. sarnia sam
Snares (R to L): Shawn BRYAN (went to Devils), Chris Campbell (27th), Steve Campbell (27th, Devils), DAVE CAMPBELL (Devils), Kevin "Canuck" Bennison(Cavaliers). Multi-tenors (R to L): Kevin "America", ELAINE REYNOLDS, JAY LINDER (SCV), Darn..I alwasy talk to him at the Toledo show. Basses: Sandy, Scott and Mouse(??) The sweetheart on the marimba is Diane MOHR (Devils) (can't remember her last name). A couple years older than me and she was dating Dave. <_< <{POST_SNAPBACK}> See the corrections in caps, plus where they ended up. I remember Sandy's last name, but don't ask me to spell it. There's a snare and a bass drummer missing form the pic. I think it's 81. You know what is amazing, the stick angles. In the tenors and snares only Steven's left hand is out of it, and of course the basses. Regards, John
sburstall
Thanks John, I know what it's like to have fuzzy brain cells. It's the same Steve Campbell you recieved a 100 in snare solo when he was marching with Devils (what year??). Those Campbell bros. had great percussion genes and instructions (their dad Norm, Ken Mazur and John). My bad about Mark Campbell. Mark was on cymbals. My brother didn't come in until the '82 season. Someone is missing from the snare line? I thought Shawn marched tenors in '81? Edited February 21, 2005 by sburstall
