SKEK_SOP
SPEAKING OF SNARES AND TENORS BC 1968 <{POST_SNAPBACK}> “Oh yes, 1968 Boston’s rebuilding year? the all new Snare, Tenor, and Bass Line? The year St. Mary’s would finally beat them in Drums. NEVER HAPPENED ! Gerry S. recently said. this was his finest line, he had all the drummers young enough to develop the “Proper Technique” We had no idea they were practicing three to four times a week from Sept. But we would soon find out, Like a Machine, so Demanding and Musical. Do I remember 1968, unfortunately Oh yes.” By St_Marys64: Feb 20 2005, 09:09 AM St Mary We also, had heard in the fall, the entire snare line aged out, and thought the same. Practicing just a few miles away, we started to get updates in the January. Our spy’s told us BEWARE the line sounded great. The first drum corps tympana Line was up and running and Boston had it’s biggest Front Line ever. It appeared the rebuilding was completed, ahead of schedule and done. Then they showed up at the Drumfest in Spring and blew everyone away, again, lead by the drum line.

mobrien
BTW--Garfield Goose was a character on "The Bozo Show" in Chicagoland, hence the sobriquet!!!! :P <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Actually Garfield Goose, the King of America (before Elvis Costello, I presume...) had his own afternoon show on 'GN, hosted by Frazier Thomas. Roy Brown (who later ended up playing Cookie on Bozo) was the original hand behind the throne of Garfield. I hope Frazier liked working with Garfield more than he did with Bozo when he was switched over to that show, since Bozo was a somewhat contentious set in Bob Bell's final years as the big B (which gave me some GREAT behind the scenes stories..... :P) Edited February 22, 2005 by mobrien
RobH
Are Frazier Thomas and Bob Bell still alive?
