Tansea
It was my privilage and it was an honor to have been under the care and tutalage of Percussion arranger - Fred Sanford Percussion Tech. - Bob Kalkofen When I was with Santa Clara. It also has been an honor to know and to have worked under Percussion arranger and tech. - Michael Ellerby When I was with the Anaheim Kingsmen. Does anyone know what ever happened to Bob Kalkofen? I would really appreciate any information.

I knew I forgot someone. Bob Kalkofen. We used to call him "Uncle Bo Bo". He rode on bus 3 with the rest of us youngens. Don't know what happened to him. Someone at the hall may. ptr250
Horn arranger/ instructor.... Gail RoyerPercussion arranger/ instructor.... Fred Sanford Drill designer/ marching instructor/ guard.... Pete Emmons Special mention to Don Angelica and "Chops" (I don't know how to spell his name but, you all know). Also, Alums Scott Pierson and Mike Hale. It's interesting for our guard because we didn't have a specific "caption head" or designer. Pete would let us know what he wanted and then the Captain and "lead" rifle would make up the work along with input from the rest of the girls. Seemed to work well as we managed to obtain high visual scores. In my case: '70-'71 G.C. Ernie Modessett. '72-'74, G.C. Patrice Alvarado, then '75 G.C.s, Myself and Judy Edwards. And for the first time in Santa Clara history, someone who wasn't "in" the guard, the great Stanley Knaub who did both flag and rifle design. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Wasn't Joanna Avila guard Captian at one time? Mark Sylvester was drill, not just for horns, but guard as well, one had the #1 side the other #2....and I thought Mike M. left after 79....I just don't remember from year to year. It was a small staff by todays standards I think!
bd5times
I wouldn't even know how to answer this question. I guess Wayne, Scott, Jay, and a Meehan of your choice since they are mainstays.
