bill
A little harder to compare us to the rest of the corps across the nation competing, though. We weren't on DCA sheets... DCI 2/3 sheets instead.Very interesting indeed... Our first read on DCA sheets. And our only one until we step off in Scranton. Ooh, that whole stealth-mode thing should be fun. I know I saw the recaps, but ye olde memory isn't clear... I think Govies took high guard today as well. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Govies took high guard in St Peter if I recall. JimF-LowBari
Wonder when was the last time this number of Senior corps competed in one night period. During the 70s/80s when the smaller Senior circuits (RCA/ICA) were around the most you could have was 2 DCA and 2 RCA (or ICA) shows in one night. As most shows then had 5 competing corps in them it could have been up to 21 or 22 in one night tops. Might have to go back to a big American Legion prelims to get this number of corps. Man did I pick the right year to go to DCA. And I like the smaller corps. B)
JohnZ
As much as I'd like to see a tight race between these corps, it's not going to happen. Once they see each other in real time, these spreads will expand. Hawthorne will take off, with Cru being the only corps on this list with a chance to stay on their tail... otherwise, not going to be that close. However, I do think that Bucs, Brigs, Empire, Minnesota, and the Renegades will have one heck of a battle for the top. And then there's Bush. Anyone who remembers 1986 knows to never count them out.. NEVER. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I am wondering why you think Cru will be the "only" corps on that list with a chance to stay on their tail? Have you seen all of the other corps? Do you have some sort crystal ball in the back of your van, that shows you the future or such? IMO, your are way off base by writing off all of the corps around "their" score. Who is to say anyone of those corps couldnt clean up their show and give anyone a run for their money. If you choose to live in the past, that is your business. There are PLENTY of past DVD's and CD's for you to purchase at DCA's website. However the reality of your statement is this....... IT'S HERE AND NOW...... not 1, two , or 10 years ago. Buy a ticket to Winston Salem, Kingston, or any other show, and you will get a taste of TODAY. Best of luck to ALL DCA corps in the coming weeks. Seven weeks to go!!!! I'll leave you all with a thought.... "Take nothing from the nostalgia for the past, but add everything to the possiblities for the future...." Carry on............. JimF-LowBari
this is, to the best of my research, the most corps to compete in DCA action anywhere, anytime, ever.the previous mostwas 1987 prelims, 23 corps. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah, and Prelims and Finals all in the same day Total of 35 shows in roughly a 16 hour time span. (23 Prelims, 10 Finals and whatever they did to get 11th/12th on the album)
