Coats are the first corps to make the top 12 from Texas.

Not trying to take the wind out of your sails, but even if Coats were officially from Texas, they're not the first to make top 12.

That was Sky Ryders (from Desoto, TX) in 91.

Sky was in Finals as early as '82, not to mention their signature Wizard of Oz show in '86.

Not to bust your bubble, dude, but being an alum of this corps, and one who has seen it persevere.... Even though there is a large contigent from TX, 'Coats are still from Canton. Glad we have the support from TX though.

They weren't actually from Texas at that point, they were from Hutchinson, KS until 1990 or '91 I blelieve.
