A list of inactive NJ corps that I compiled a few years ago for a project that I was working on at the time. Not 100% on the accuracy of the information. Project dropped due to finding information on all these corps from more reliable sources is next to impossible. List compiled from Corpsreps.com.

Two from New York I bet no one remembers.....Johnstown, NY Patriots and the Troy, Ny Volunteers. I marched in both of them.

Hmm, I remember seeing a book in the mid-80s about drum corps that featured a young man in his first year in the Troy Volunteers. B)

Vaqueros are kind of a mystery corps. They were from Aurora, Illinois and were very big in the mid-later 1950s. In 1957 they had the all-time best drum major I'd ever seen. After 1957, they made only infrequent appearances but were still going into the early 1960s.

They were still around in the '70s upt hrough the early 80s (listing themselves as being from Elmhurst). They had a couple of ok years in the mid 70s, but started fading about the same time as most smaller corps around here were dropping off the map.

Imperial Guardsmen, Livingston

Marched with and taught them.

Kings Regiment, Swedesboro

Unless there were two...the King's Regiment were a merger with the Greenwood Lake lakers and them...and were from Wayne/Oakland primarily.

Monarchs, Oakland/Wayne

I taught both...the Monarchs last year and then the KR.

My first corps is left off of the list...the Livingston Hilltioppers.

They were a GSC corps...I started in their feeder in 64 as a 10 1/2 year-old.

After 64 politics in the VFW post tore them apart...and the Imperial Guardsmen formed across town from most of the field corps. The feeder became THE only Hilltoppers after that...only did parades through 68 or 69..never made the competition field after 64.
