The one thing you do not miss about tour.

Recommended Posts

I do not miss:

Slicing through the goosbumps and mosquito bites when shaving my legs in a freezing cold shower. Had to do it though, nubs were even worse to have when doing high mark time in humid weather.

PB&Js.

Standing in line waiting for a stall at the truck stop.

Having to endure the Guys bathroom ampssuck at said truckstop when we were able to get in there after they were all through.

Driving over the Rockies and through the Desert without A/C.

I haven't been on a real tour yet, but I still have things I don't miss...

Black snot from a dusty field

Having to run double the laps because people were late

Having to run after lunch break (we did it a few times)

"You guys are on autopilot right now. Go run to that goalpost and back to wake yourselves up." --joe exley (I don't have anything against running, it just got to be a bit much)

I'm sure I'll have more once I finally go on tour.

Things I do not miss:

- The sun rising when we're still (50) miles from our housing site, and I've been driving all night.

- Finding the showers and noticing that they have dirt floors and no benches.

- Waking up and getting the last plate of leftovers from breakfast, which was 4 hours ago, and missing lunch because I have to do an airport run.

- Pulling up to the stadium at the head of the corps caravan, only to be told that the corps parking is six blocks south and three blocks west.

- Pushing the pit cart because the tractor died........AGAIN!

Dan Acheson push-ups.

You had to hold yourself inches above the ground for at least a minute. You'd be allowed up for a short rest, then back down for another minute. Rinse, repeat. Rarely enforced by Dan unless he heard you drop an F-bomb. Dan HATES that word.

For the short time I was on tour this past year:

Unloading everyone's baggage (luggage crew sucks)

Having to take all the stuff off the bus cause we were getting new ones.

Luke warm food....especially if it was supposed to be cold.

4 showers, 60 guys, 30 minutes.

Texas humidity, bugs, and sun.

Guard people generally tend to not miss:

Blinding sun

Texas Wind

Basics, basics, basics.

Here's what I do miss:

That perfect toss.

the corresponding perfect catch.

making it through any run through.

Applause.

The awesome tan

The awesome abs (although mine are coming back)
