BTW - I was rooting for the late 80's Emerald Knights.

Thanks for the compliment.

Just like when the Emerald Knights switched uniforms from an aussie hat to a helmet with a brush on top..........we always called them "O Cedar" :P

All the Iowa corps-Ft Dodge Lanciers, Waterloo Chevaliers, Cedar Rapids Knights, Osage, and my favorite corps in which my sister marched- the Clinton Nee-Hi's. Also the St. Paul Scouts. My sister had a crush on a bari player in 1970 and 1971.

Hey ... thanx for the Iowa shout ... neat little hotbed of activity there from about early '60s to mid-'70s ... and don't forget CR Cadets/Grenadiers, Monahan Marksmen from Sioux City, Decorah Kilties, Fort Madison Cavaliers, Waterloo Royals, the wonderfully named Dukes of Dubuque and a bunch more I'm not thinking of ... and thanx for getting Lanciers spelled right! Oh yeah, and Fort Dodge Post 130 won Legion Nationals in 1926, though that engendered a good bit of controversy ...

We used to call them the "FULLER BRUSH CADETS" !! :P

Shades of the old Spartans. In your best Marvin the Marsian voice: "Oh they make me very angry" :P ^0^

Must spread the love for the (Geneseo, Quad City) Knights. (See sig.)

In the "No Midwest Favorite Poll?"

Northern Aurora deserves a mention.

Northern Aurora is represented under their original name Saganairs from Saganaw Mi.

Did I miss something? I thought the Racine Scouts were still going (just with very small numbers)?

Toss up for me between two corps that are alive in Sr. versions. Kilties and Royal Airs. BTW, last time I checked Racine Scouts were still alive and living in Div. III.

Ditto. From the list I'd pick Argonne. I was stationed in Wichita in the late 60's and was pleasently surprised to find a very active Drum Corps community. Those 70-73 Argonne hornlines were among the best ever. I watched Sandra Opie rehearse them on many occassions, and realized how incredibly lucky those kids were to have her as their teacher.
