North Port High School in North Port, FL already has a drum and bugle corps as part of their curriculum. It functions as the marching unit for the school. Woodwind players learn brass, percussion, and colorguard. Many brass players play woodwinds or other instruments in other ensembles. The school was founded in 2001. You can see the student run drum corps website at:

There are many more in the schoolastic divisions that could beat there counterparts in the independent divisions

I don't know about guard, but that is very unlikely in percussion. Even the top Scholastic World groups like Centerville or Avon would get stomped by groups like RX, Mystique or NorthCoast. Listing one or two examples of scholastic lines or guards that might be able to hold their own against a few independant world groups hardly represents the norm of the activty. Putting a high school ensemble against a college age ensemble would be completely unfair.

If yo do, might I suggest a mod to the uniform so you don't look so much like the Cascades....obviously a consideration you don't have to worry about for a purely high school program.

Nah, looks to me a lot more like the old Carolina Crown uniforms.
