Volunteer Drivers Required

The Bandettes (All Girl) Drum & Bugle Corps require AZ, BZ, CZ, or G drivers, minimum age 25 yrs. and with a clear driving record for transporting the corps throughout the year and summer tours.

Each summer we travel with a member coach and a "Kitchen" bus. The coach is automatic and requires AZ, BZ, or CZ License and pulls the equipment trailer. For you Americans, that's a Commercial Drivers License for a bus with over 15 passengers, a school purposes bus or a semi truck.

The “Cook Bus” is stick shift and is classified as a “Motor Home” and requires only a G License. Car License.

The corps travels one weekend a month starting in December to East Jordan, Michigan, about 2 ½ to 3 hours drive. Leaving 5:00 Friday evening and returning by 5:00 PM Sunday. This is a rehearsal weekend and no driving is required while there unless a group of adults need to go shopping. We only use the “Coach Bus & Trailer” on these “Corps Camp” weekends.

In June we begin performing on weekends and use both buses and travel into Michigan and Northern Wisconsin. Departure times and return times vary depending on the time of scheduled performances.

When the girls are out of school we hit the road for 5 or 6 weeks throughout the U.S. We always arrange our schedule to be home for the Community Days Parade. WE PREFER TO HAVE TWO DRIVERS PER VEHICLE SO NO ONE DRIVER GETS OVER TIRED. To have a driver for the whole summer would be wonderful but usually not possible due to work commitments. We have drivers brought in every week or so as necessary and others returned home to work. If you can give us one week, two weeks, the whole 5 or 6 weeks or just some of the weekends, we will all appreciate the help and it means that one person isn’t constantly changing his schedule to accommodate us. Travelling with the Bandettes is enjoyable work and “Drum Corps is The Experience of a Lifetime!” Join the team and be a part of history.
