2CoolVK
also.. lets remember it was on a TUESDAY at 10pm... would be better to start at 8pm-10pm It started at 7 PM on the west coast. At least with this time slot, no one could complain that they couldn't get home from work/school in time to watch. That would be the case if it started at 8 Eastern. Invader
13th for all channels or 13th for ESPN2? Who cares! For an activity with such a small fan base it's geat news.
DrumCorpsFan27
Who cares! For an activity with such a small fan base it's geat news. I care. Think of the potential for broadcasts if it was 13th on all channels. They would be paying DCI for it, big time.
csugrad
It would be nice if someone could get the ratings for the replays after it first aired.

Well, obviously if it was 13th overall it would be amazing...and would have been seen by millions...to be 13th even in just ESPN2's world is still a great showing for DCI, IMO. Jeff Ream
Some interesting information for your continuing discussions about the ESPN2 DCI broadcast. This was just posted in the most recent Autumn Edition of the Crossmen Alumni Association newsletter: "Crossmen alumna Diane Denesowicz ('75-'78) is the Director of Consumer Insights at MindShare in New York City, one of the largest media investment management companies in the world. Part of her job is following the Nielsen ratings. Here's what she had to say about DCI: 'The Drum Corps International World Championships on ESPN2 were the 13th ranked program for the week it aired. It had one of the youngest audience profiles on the network. The median age of the viewer was 30. That is lower than most of the programming on ESPN2. DCI ranked 5th in the Male Age 18 to 34 category among all ESPN2 shows that week. It was #1 for Women Age 18-34. The show also did well in drawing teens to the network as it was the #3 ESPN2 show for the week for Teens Age 12-17.'" then it did exactly as it set out to do. good job DCI
