But maybe you're right.. they couldn't possibly comprehend where you're coming from.. for all the hours of toil and sweat you put in writing that check or sending off that PayPal (and thank you very much, by the way, they were put to good use keeping the site going all this time), I can imagine you feel like you're entitled to complain about any slight change that ever happens here... even if it IS for the best and all your fears are totally unfounded and based entirely on speculation and worst-case-scenarioism. It couldn't POSSIBLY be that this might be the absolute BEST thing for the future of this website -- despite your not having been the first to know.. Right. Wait.. and whine back at me..... NOW! You just gave money to George.I've wondered why you folks were "donating" here when you could have collectively saved the Troopers. Well, for starters, nobody knew the Troopers were in such dire straits when donations were solicited. While this might have been handled better, the fact of the matter is that those of us who donated didn't donate to George. George bailed the site out (or we'd be back on RAMD right now.) My donation, such as it was, was in return for the information and entertainment I've derived from this site over the years. Even trade, as I see it. Could DCP become a porn site? Theoretically, yes. Realistically that would be highly unlikely. Worst case scenario will probably be that servers are flipped and we get popups. Is there personal information of mine on here? Sure, but it's not like my checking account number is available...or even my phone number. Just my "spam" email address. If others put overly personal information on here, perhaps you have cause for concern but, frankly, if you're putting that much info out there, your concern should go beyond DCP's new owner. Thank you, George, for what you've done. I think the sale could have been handled better, but I'm willing to reserve judgement until the new ownership takes over. I'm not sure Dan, maybe religion and other items having to do with the "establishment" so to speak. However, we do agree on far more things than disagree when it comes to drum corps! And I still think you had the quote of maybe the decade....it said something like DCP is a place for old people to come who were in their glory 25 years ago, and talk/brag about it.....that's not even close to what you said, but I laughed for a long time when you wrote it and it is so true!! First of all - you didn't help "pay my paycheck" - I am so in the negative in regards to DCP it isn't funny - even after the sale I will be in the rear many thousands of dollars - never mind my time. If you had any knowledge about the situation it would be one thing - but you don't. I've never drawn a paycheck - DCP has drawn upon MY pay check from my REAL job - in the thousands and thousands. Mike used to say when we donated ,the money went to bandwith and to help pay for costs of the staff, now I know I didn't donate as much as some but I donated every time I was asked, no questions asked. Because I believed in what was going on here at this website. If you feel like I hurt your feelings, I do apologize and I wasn't meaning that as an insult, but George for real, I feel like you owe me and the others here who feel the way we do one, because of the way this went down, why is that hard to understand?I don't wish you any ill will if you must go, go, I don't begrudge you that, I am just upset at the way it went down. I know that you have the right to do this the way you want to but how could you not see that this was going to hurt some serious feelings? This site from its inception was all about being the polar opposite to RAMD. Thee and a half years ago, you asked me to be a moderator here. I readily jumped at the prospect because even in its most juvenile stages, it was clear that DCP was different. It was clear that DCP was going nowhere but up. The prospect of this site going to the wrong hands scares many of us. We want to know that what has taken 4 years to build won't come crashing down in 6 days time. It is clear that you have had enough and are ready to move on. I personally wish you the best of luck in whatever you do. It was your vision (and wallet apparently) that gave the DCP vision to the drum corps world, and for that, I thank you. I just hope you are not throwing the baby out with the bath water.
