In high school, my band wore the old Q-tip style of white busby, with what I guess could be called a cadet-style uniform; black, with green and white trim. The flags (and we actually also had shields early on, too) wore a smaller version of the busby, with white jackets and short white pleated skirts. The whole thing was very Big 10/Bill Moffitt style . . . which didn't go too well with the corps style the band adopted in the mid-'70s.

Whoo, boy, I forgot I actually had a picture of us . . . shields and all! Get ready. . . .

Sadly, we had essentially the same picture taken every year. Same location, everything. At some point, we stopped with the costumed majorettes. I forget what the deal was. Something about the different nationalities that had been part of Vincennes at one time or another, I think.
