DCP-I V Season Discussion

Recommended Posts

Tri-Color is having a hard time trying to convey this show to the judges, things should clear up before the first regional. Emerald Regime is off to a wonderful start this season, and can only improve. This is a show that will peak when it needs to!

All of our Division II/III corps are doing very well thus far, Bleu Knights are doing extremely well in Division II, with Cascade Christian, and Emerald Regime Cadets not too far behind. Puget Sound and Evergreen Regiment are having their typical first year Division III corps performance errors, but they are certainly keeping up!

Aurora Borealis ...well, they are overseas!

Well Mystré is on the practice field for a couple more days till our next show. Some tweeks to the flow of the show. They just learned the updated version of Money in sectionals and we are putting in a new transition at the end of Pavane.

The members are starting to get a swager to them. Too bad a certain Chicago corps wont be in Rosemont but the line up there is still nice.

After the show, we have a late night flight out to Vegas where we get to see PRK at the Enigma home show.

Raincross aimed to please as they opened the fifth season of DCP-I with first place finishes in both San Diego and Alameda. "Our total package is still being pieced together," said the corps director, "but the kids are really getting the feel of the rhythm we're putting out on the field, and our percussion is just smokin!" Raincross's percussion was second overall in both contests, just being etched out by the Spanish Inquisition, something completely unexpected.

Raincross returned home Sunday night to a warm welcoming by supporters. Their next performance will be taking place in Mexico City on January 21st. This will be their first out-of-country trip in Raincross's imaginative history. This tour will include public performances around Mexico City, including a sister city exchange concert in Cuautla, Morelos.

"Finalmente, puedo hacer amor a ésos amor de I realmente." Soprano soloist Rico Hernandez was quoted saying. "No iguale a Virgen Maria podrá aferrarse a su chastity."

The folks at Kadence are very happy today after winning in Gowrie last night. The staff is understandably excited as well, considering where we were at this point last season. Right now we're trying to manage everybody's emotions so we can have another good performance tonight in Sioux City.

The staff at LWC is in a bit of a quandry at the moment. Seems their Canadian visual instructor has mysteriously vanished (although he may just be locked in the bathroom on the staff bus). They are currently searching for a temporary replacement, but are concerned that the wrong person could hurt the overall effectiveness of the show.

Overdrive's been the big name in D2 this year. They've done a great job of continuing to build on their momentum from the preseason, and they haven't lost a show yet so far this season. They've got 2 more shows before they return to Speedway for their traditional "carb days" tour where they'll get the final drill on the field and refine the music and guard work; what will they look like when they come back out?

The Division II Bleu Knights layed the smack down on Division I Tri-Color!!! Though Bleu Knights is BYMA corps, they still operate under Tri-Color...this has got to be depressing for Tri-Color. It's time to put the pressure on them.

Did Florida Kingsmen not submit a percussion ensemble score?

No, they did not.
