patblamo
I am new to DCA (last year was my first Championships). I was wondering what a DCA Classic Countdown would consist of? How about some DCA long-timers (noticed I avoided the word old-timers :sshh: ) giving us what you envision it as, same rules (no dups, 2-70s, 4-80s, 4-90s & 2-2000s). I know the history isn't the same as DCI but I'm just making it comparable...

However, for DCA, you'd have to include performances from the 1960s as well, IMO, since the circuit held its first championship in 1965. drumlaw80
1980 Buccaneers, 2003 Renegades, and a medley of circa 1995 Westshoremen percussion breaks ... etc.

JimF-LowBari
Didn't watch any corps from 1993-2002 so will load up on the shows I saw: 1979 or 1980 Buccs - yep, what else can be said 1974 Yankee Rebels - if for no other reason the "Minstral Show" concert which was unique. 1972 Crusaders - never saw the show but my CD just screams "WOW" 2005 Buccs - "horn choir" just knocked me out 2003 Renegades - Loud ain't good, it's greaaaaat!! 1975 Hurcs - Horn line that could blast paint off the walls and "Suicide Wheel" on Hang 'em High 1980s kind of a blur - still thinking 1975 Phoenix - ahead of their time, opening number a combo of Firebird Suite and Doors Light My Fire. At that time, combining a classical and a rock number like that was a definite WTF. Any year Sky did Elks Parade, Traffic Jam and New York, New York closer. 1980 RI Matadors - Unbelievable solo work 1976 Cabs - a true Latin Express with high mark time Any late 70s/early 80s year when Sun won DCA - A touch of class Edited January 27, 2006 by JimF-xWSMBari
