drumlaw80
Monday April 17th DCA was mentioned on WNEP TV 16's broadcast. The story was about how DCA would not be returning to Scranton this year. Local retailers and hotel owners are throwing a fit because this was one of the most lucaraitive weekends of the year for most businesses in the area. Northeast Pennsylvania is going to lose over two million dollars of revenue. People are displeased to say the least and heads are gonna roll over this one. Good. I loved having the corps perform in Scranton, but it never sank in to those idiot's heads what they were deriving from DCA terms of economic benefit. They should have rolled out the red carpet for DCA ... instead, it was red tape and hassle after hassle. JimF-LowBari
Must be a PA thing. Only time you read what $$$$$ gets pulled into Harrisburg is when an event is lost or close to being lost. Happened few months ago when DCA told Hershey to kiss off for DCA Champs. Also when HERCO or Derry Twp gets pissy about the Antique car show in October. Did see a small (misleading) article on DCA in the Scranton events mag when we were at the Dunmore hotel. Don't know if anyone reads it outside of tourists after they are already in town. Judging by the amount of words written DCA ranked right up there with the Italian fest.
Jeff Ream
well, DCA has moved on, so we can stop #####ing about Scranton and look to the future.

LegalEagle50
Lets them know that we are not going to take thier abuse.Perhaps some good can come of it if we keep the pressure on them.Make them change thier whole marketing. if we're not going back for finals why would they change their marketing for us? the regular season show always went off fine so why are we going to jump the gun and presume it won't now? camel lips
the regular season show always went off fine so why are we going to jump the gun and presume it won't now? Talk about putting words in someones mouth. Never said ANYTHING to the effect. Im saying keep Scranton on thier toes.
LegalEagle50
you're the one who used the word "abuse". i didn't put that in your mouth at all. i am just wondering what is the purpose of keeping them on their toes if we have no intention of returning their for finals any time soon until they build more hotels, etc.? if all we are doing is returning for a regular season show none of that is needed.
