I don't think anyone has mentioned Julia Brabson thus far. Julia was from Bloomington, IN, and she marched 27th Lancers in '84 and '86. Her brother, Steve, marched Star, 27th and Garfield.

She died in a car crash in 1989, and it was a tremendous loss for all of us. She was a talented, brilliant, beautiful woman who was taken far too soon.

Also, it was not until I saw old friends at finals last weekend that I learned of the death of Patsy Bonfiglio. I'm proud to have been a small part of the Lancer family she loved so well.

This is a very interesting thread insomuch as it has made me think about some folks who I hadn't thought about in a while. In my previous post I didn't put down any names because I could probably fill this page up. I will however mention my buddy Ray who was known as Konga in drum corps circles. We lost him Thanksgiving eve of 2007 and his loss is still felt very profoundly. He represented my longest standing friendship in drumcorps going back to 1964 when we were both in Jr. High school. At this point in my life I find myself looking back a lot and the memories of those who have passed on are a source of peace cause I know someday, we'll march together again.

Nothing like being reminded of our own mortality.

Earlier in this thread I listed those who I could remember from St Joe's and St. Rita's including Ray and his brother George (sidemouth) Richardson. But I left one name off the list that of the wonderful Fran Virgilio who we lost after the airliner crashed into tower 1 on September 11th.

The world was truly diminished by her loss.

One of our Baritones from Suncoast (1992-1994), Ian Tillman. I did not see him after the 1994 season and got news of his death a few years ago.

His family is doing great work in his memory.

I was not aware that you marched '76 Muchachos! How awesome a drum corps career you have had so far! I know that Dave Rinaldo was taken in a car accident, but was Tommy Clarke (DM-Muchachos) involved in car accident also?

Maybe I missed her in previous postings.....but Julie Zerhusen (Dickmeyer) should be in this list. She marched Pioneer (Color Guard) 1996 till at least 1998 (but could have been longer). She passed away in 2009.
