oldbandguy
You can't go wrong with FAMOUS DAVE'S BBQ RIBS. My wife and I had never been to Madison before and stopped at this restaurant by chance. We happened to mention we were in Madison for the first time to see our son perform with the Scouts. The waiter happened to mention this to the manager who then came over to ask how our meal was and that dessert would be on the house. The food was excellent! I don't remember the exact location, but as I recall it was several blocks from the downtown area.
madalumni
Does The Nitty Gritty still exist? That was one great place to go for a burger. Also, does anyone know of a good Indian food restraunt?
Jacob
I don't know if there are any of these in Madison, but I know there are some in surrounding smaller towns less than an hour away so I'd imagine they'd be in Madison too. They're chain restaurants...but I've eaten there and they're fast, really good, and cheap. Rocky Rococos - Pizza - really good pizza Culvers - Frozen Custard and Butterburgers - this place makes any other fast food joint look like crap!!! (IMO)

kstein
There's not much to recommend in Madison as far as eating or accomodations...or stadium comfort...restrooms... But I digress. The place my father raves about is a steak house called Smokey's. He's a pretty fussy guy when it comes to restaurants, but he always goes out of his way to stop at this place. Anyone local know if it's still around? Karen
MaxwellNotes
Madison is one of the greatest towns for good places to eat. Some of the ones mentioned already are great Nitty Gritty Parteneon (a must in my mind!) BW3 State Street Brats Rocky Roccoco's Pizza Buraka I would add Bahn Thai
