It IS impressive, plenty of people have said that, but the designers weren't thinking "OK, lets do this, the crowd will go nuts!" Why would someone design the beginning of a drum corps show to prevent applause? That makes no sense to me. My guess is the designers of the Cadets show would love for the crowd to go nuts, they're just not pushing the right buttons/faders/eqs/compressors yet. But I'm sure they will.
