We couldn't even hear the hornline behind us because the rain and wind was so bad! Our poor drum major had to stand with feet apart and hunkered down jus to stay on the podium. I feel bad for people who bought tickets to prelims because when we got there, there was absolutely no one in the stands and I can't blame them. The weather was terrible, but we survived. :) You said a mouthful!!!! When we went on it felt like the rain was being driven sideways ! I've never been so wet in my entire life. It was even wetter than standing under the shower in the morning. My shoes had inches of water in them. Had to take the shoes and put them over the hotel heater to dry them out. The hotel only had one dryer on our floor, so I had to crank the heater up in my room to get the uni dry (or dryer). It was SO ridiculous I had FUN ! It was either have fun or be miserable. I will say though that with no hair and our pit not wearing hats, it was VERY cold and miserable standing around in all that torrential rain until we went on.
