Slow Adam
Snare tilt = Black college and high school marching band percussion sections with straps and leg rests........ I guess SCV didn't get that memo in 2004.
Jim Nevermann
In the past ALL drumlines snares were tilted. drum corps always had tilted snares. we all used traditional grip and you had to tilt them. Yes, but likewise in the past [with the exception of the snare-grip tenor Boston Crusaders and, I think, Marion Cadets] otherswise ALL tenor lines played matched grip on tilted single tenors. And as for slung drums in the pre-leg rest days, other variables were the size & depth of the drum shells [some were 'concert band' size VS the honking-large, bottom-rim-almost-touching-the-ground size]... *and* if the sling was worn just on the right shoulder or just around the neck.
