BD's best 10-year period was 1976-1985 (you can also use 1977-1986 and get the same result) with an average of 1.7.

Cadets' best 10-year run was 1992-2001 with an average of 2.0.

Cavaliers best 10-year run is their current one (1997-2006) with an average of 2.3.

What about years without dropping in placement? I think the Bluecoats started climbing in 2000?

But this is the most interesting: the corps that wins Semifinals has NEVER lost on Finals night.

Given that, even MORE impressive is that it is also true that the 2nd place semis corps has won 3 times :P

This topic is further proof of the mischief that one can cause with stats.

For me it's SCV hands down.

When you look at the number of corps that have come and gone since 1972 and realize that SCV has been there through it all..truly stunning.

Let's not forget that PR and BD have been there every year since 1974.

...

Under Dan Acheson, Glassmen placed higher each year, TEN years in-a-row.

Way back in the day when semis were prelims, SCV won 72 prelims and lost finals.
