JimF-LowBari
OK, I'll start: IMO, I had an out of the ordinary time during my years in a competative corps. My first corps disbanded three months after I joined. Second corps was trying to get back on the field after a season off and started really late. Only had two competitions my first year. First one we set a record for lowest DCA score at the time. Second was coming in dead last at DCA Prelims. Next few years we competed at both DCA shows (getting our heads kicked in) and RCA small Sr circuit (not too shabby). By my last year playing horn on the field we came in 6th at DCA which was a corps best at the time. Few years later corps disbanded and reformed again and I played horn parades and did Honor Guard duties at the shows I could attend. Affects how I look at DC in two main ways: 1) Love them smaller corps (saw enough of them during my time). 2) Can enjoy almost any corps show even if it is a last place corps (know first hand how much effort goes into even a last place show). Anyone else.......
