Top 5 Spine-Tingling Moments of All-Time

Recommended Posts

Oops, this is only supposed to be 5. (edited)

5.) SCV 1988 - Music of the Night (in comparison to 89's version, this one is much better IMO)

4.) Phantom Regiment 1989 - The W-Pull into company front, & ending of show.

3.) Madison Scouts

2.) Cadets 2000 - When the fans scream YEAAAH!!! right before the big hit in the opener, and the ending of the show. I did a show with the same music my freshman year in high school, this one probably hits home every time I watch it.

1.) Phantom Regiment 1991 - Ending of show...good God......watch this show at normal volume and then right before the drums come in at the very end and the corps throws their hats down, turn the volume up ALLL THE WAY. Holy Crap. This one definately gets me every time.

Not to repeat the greatness: :P

1. Phantom, 2003- Canon turn-front and blast in opener/Canon reprise

2. Phantom, 2006- Ave Maria... 'nuff said

3. Phantom, 1996- Crescendo into layers and percussion in opener

4. Madison, 1999- End, Jesus Christ reprise, with Cross and Star

3 way tie for 5th, sort of in order of "preference":

5. Crossmen, 1992- Horn re-entry in percussion feature, with soprano "descant"

5. Cavaliers, 1995- Ballad (Not sure which movement, maybe Jupiter), particularly percussion entry into huge crescendo

5. Bridgemen, 1980- Big, dirty (bluesy dirty, not dirty playing), swinging breakdown in Big Noise with soprano solo over top.

I said the 3 way tie to just add a few more that people hadn't mentioned yet... :)

These are not in any order, just the first 5 that jumped into my head.

1. Star of Indiana 1990 - Push to the end was just awesome!

2. Blue Devils 2002 (semifinals run) - I never have jumped out of my seat so fast after a last note. The surprising thing is my whole family did and we are very conservative fans never really going crazy like most fans do. That show just touched us that night.

3. Blue Devils 1988 - The horn parts just before the drum break in Old Black Magic. So sophisticated and stylish.

4. Madison 1988 - Solo to the end.

(I watch both those shows from '88 and they still give me goosebumps every single time)

5. Phantom Regiment 1993 - Ballad.

Latin Implosion? Really? Wow....that was my least favorite chart of the show...nice to see it get some love, tho!

I meant Implosion, honest.

So many shows were seemingly overshadowed by Garfield that year. 84 BD doesn't get enough love IMO. La Fiesta is also great. The last real concert number.
