lnavis
Do you honestly think moving the office SIX MILES is going to make any difference at all? They were still the MADISON Scouts. They were NEVER, not once, introduced as the Sun Prairie Scouts.I might be swayed to say it makes a difference IF you told me that the majority of the members were coming from Madison, but over the past few years (including the later part of Scott Stewart's years) the majority of the members did not even come from Wisconsin, much less Madison. Of course the Scouts are no different in this regard than many other corps. Good luck to the '07 MADISON Scouts...no matter where you're mail gets delivered. I did read in the Madison Newspaper - go figure - "The Madison Scouts from Sun Prairie, WI"
lnavis
I know. I was responding to a few others out there in a different thread. Sorry for the confusion! (By the way, thanks for helping me with my sash and cords before each of the MSARP shows this summer!! I don't know what we would have done without your help!) You're welcome. It was so much fun being able to help out. I had a blast!

Marker773
You're right - I didn't intend to imply that at all. The Scouts of the past three years are as much Madison Scouts as any of their brothers who marched before them. Thanks for the clarification - I don't blame you for being defensive regarding such an implication. Hugz all 'round bros Marc Giles Chicago Madison Scouts 1984-1988 MSARP 2006!! Jim Anello
It makes a huge difference in fundraising - trust me. If you want a community to support you financially, it makes some sense to be located within that particular community. Lots of competition for charitable dollars these days. So, in conclusion, I "honestly think" moving the office SIX MILES will make a difference. I agree with you that corps are less community-based than in the past, but the citizens of means within the communities still want to donate to community-oriented organizations. Not only may it help with fundraising, but it WILL save dollars on office costs, from what I was told. A smart financial move to keep expenses to a minimum. Congratulations to the administration of the corps for making this decision. Edited December 2, 2006 by Jim Anello
