Now this thread won't make Finals! :P I'm surprised no FMMs of any corps have mentioned bus fumes. We all know it, and it always makes us think of drum corps. Pit_Girl_77
When I saw the title of the thread the first thing that popped in my head was: "Don't break ranks!" Another common one would be the trip-and-roll, where the kid would be bleeding on both knees and an arm, but the horn didn't have a scratch. I think every corps sees at least one version of this a week.
blackhorse
I'm trying to figure out how that's possible...and each is worse than the last as hard as that is to grasp.......... it's true
liebot
true story I know a guy who won "the game" no joke........he's one of my heroes there are two "games" played in drum corps, as far as i know. the first involves passing trash from the back of the bus to the front, the second is "the game" where the purpose is to not think about "the game." If you think about the game you lose, and have to tell everyone else that's playing that you just lost. after you lose, you have a 30-minute time period in which it is okay to think about the game. after that, you lose again if you think about it. i think that's "the game" blackhorse is referring to. BigDale
My feather and my star. My green feather (which I got at the Parade of Champions/ banquet), my aussie (the uniform fee was the same amount as the price of the aussie) my season star (which only lost to one corps all season) and my finals star (which only lost one show to that corps). perc2100
A few that popped into my head that I haven't seen yet: * aging-out * leaving shoes on the field * corps jackets * patches (finals, champion, corps/show, whatever)
Jocko the Wonder Llama
* corps jackets* patches (finals, champion, corps/show, whatever) I must admit that I still have my original corps jacket from 1976. I will NEVER get rid of it. Although, it doesn't seem to fit quite like it did back then. (Must have shrunk )

LancerFi
This one is very abstract and probably makes no sense as far as the title goes, none the less, maybe every member will know what I mean. It's what you've felt when you look at the other members after you've come off the field and have maybe accomplished something you never thought you would, something just clicked. It's the unspoken. It was really very difficult because most of the time we'd feel that we (maybe 1 section or side or individual) had a fabulous show only to hear that the corps overall did not. __________________________________________________________ Anyway, for the real answer, I couldn't begin to think which is more sacred. I need more time on this one!
madalumni
There are so many cool ones. In Madison, when I marched, a couple of them were our imfamous "Hornline Song", "talent night", and for a number of years, "The Crypt" But I think the universal ones are corps songs/secret sayings and corps jackets.
