Matt_S
I'm surprised we haven't seen the annual "Star is coming back as a junior corps" thread.

Michael Boo
On April 1, 2004, I posted the following on DCP. A few people did take it seriously. <<Aloha! 2007 DCI Tour of Champions to Hawaii? As I was Googling through the ‘Net early this morning (4/1/2004), I plugged in some words to see what was out there for the DCI Tour of Champions. What I found was a surprise and a great example of thinking outside the box. A brand new press release on the website for Hawaii Governor Linda Lingle states, “We are excited about the possibility of the 2007 Drum Corps International Tour of Champions coming to the Aloha State, and we hope that all drum corps fans will come to witness the magic that is Hawaii.” The press release mentions that the post-season event would be held at Aloha Stadium, the 50,000 seat home to the University of Hawaii’s Warriors football team, located just two miles from the Honolulu International Airport and only twelve miles from Waikiki on Oahu. This would be a great venue to enjoy the drills: The release says the highest seat in the stadium is as high as a ten-story building. As some of you might know, Hawaii has long been a hotbed of the marching band activity, as evidenced by the huge ensembles that occasionally visit the Tournament of Roses Parade. (You may remember seeing the bands that feature conch shell units up front.) Hey, it seems a stretch, but maybe by visiting Hawaii, might it be hoped that the drum corps activity be stimulated in the Aloha State? I haven’t heard anything from the DCI office about this, so I’m guessing Gov. Lingle’s office might have jumped the gun. The website also announced that more information on the 2007 Hawaiian Tour of Champions would be forthcoming in one year.>>

RegimentContra94
God, Santa Clara is so pretentious with these ridiculous show titles. Why can't they just go back to being a real drum corps, break out the screamers and knee-length tunics, and play 4 cool tunes with 4 cool drill sets. You ashame me Santa Clara, someone's not getting any of my money at the souvie booth this summer. Dude, YES. Overreact much guys? First off, it was obviously a joke. If you are not from the US and don't understand April Fools Day, I apologize. You two are like Statler and Waldorf, the two old guys in the balcony on the Muppets. Everything is bad, we hate it all, why can't the world cater to what we want. It's possible that nobody even pays attention to you anymore.
