DCP Offline for Maintenance

We will be taking the DCP servers offline this evening (Wednesday 6/20 / Thursday 6/21) from roughly midnight - 1:00am PDST (3am-4am EDST) to make some hardware changes to improve our reliability and resources for the current season. During this time window the server will be taken offline completely .... and all DCP sites will be 'dark'.

We're also going to take the DCP Forums offline on Thursday night/Friday morning - between the hours of midnight - 3am PDST (3am-6am EDST) to migrate services to the new server. During this time, portions of the site will be offline, while the migration takes place. Unaffected portions of the site will remain online.

During both of these maintenance windows - services on the site may disappear without notice at any time.

Our apologies for the inconvenience to our members - especially those outside of North America, who are most affected during this time. We'll get systems back online as quickly as possible.

Thank you for your support and understanding.

Our maintenance activities have been completed for the DCP Forums ... adding a dedicated database server to our network - and with it, significantly more capacity.

All systems are migrated and working fine. We'll be monitoring closely over the next couple of days to ensure there are no residual problems.

Thank you for your patience.

actually, our site was up all weekend. no outages at all.

I was on pretty much the entire day yesterday while watching the San Antonio feed.

and, when the site is down, it is usually during non- "business" hours for the most part. That is, John does the upgrading when most of us are sleeping so that the outages have no bearing on our normal posting habits.

That said, the offline maintenance you quoted there is a month old. :worthy:

I think Krista already addressed this, but our site was up and running all weekend. It was going strong with about 1300-1400 users on at one point, even when the DCI site crashed after the San Antonio evening show.

Usually, when someone comments on the site being sporatic or down, it's a server/DNS issue on their side, unfortunately. I have no idea how to address that, but here is a thread where other users talked about similar issues. John addressed them as well as he could, I believe. If you have any problems after looking through that, you might want to throw a post in that thread describing your exact problem, or start a new thread of your own about it.

Thanks,

Lance
