Scouts Alumni - if your corps jacket has gotten a bit snug and you would like a new one, we are taking our annual order from now until April 15th. You must be a former (or current) marching member to purchase this item… and yes, we check.
You can order your new jacket at Madison Gear.
A time honored tradition, this classic dark green wool jacket has been the member jacket since the 1940’s. This “baseball style” jacket includes the traditional fleur-de-lis appliqué on the back with the text “Madison Corps”. The cuffs and waist band have white stripes and the classic white piping extends down over the shoulders and through the sleeves.

The Brigadiers Music Association (BMA) along the administration of the Brigadiers Drum & Bugle corps has determined that the group will not be fielding a competitive DCA corps for the 2010 season. While the Brigadiers maintain a dedicated nucleus of talented performers, this difficult decision was made due to unsuccessful attempts to recruit additional members to make 2010 a productive season.
The Brigadier organization will continue to function, and the corps will be performing in several parades and exhibitions this summer. There is also serious consideration being made for a mini-corps to perform at this year’s DCA Championships. BMA will also focus on expanding our presence and support of the performing arts in the Central NY area. We will be continuing our sponsorship of the Onondaga Community College Winter Percussion program, with plans to expand on this in the future. Other community based and educational outreach programs are also being explored to promote the corps and our activity.

Mystikal is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Jennifer Ramsey and Ms. Mindi Sanchez as the Conductors for the 2010 Program “5ive”. Jennifer is in her 3rd year with the corps and will bring with her some of the corps’ traditions in the Conductor’s role.
The Executive Director, Rob Lowery, stated "I am happy to have Jenny for a 3rd season. She will bring even more experience and leadership to corps. The experience of Jenny will go a long way in assisting this year’s membership which is comprised of a large base of first year drum corps members. Mindi brings to corps outstanding leadership and organizational skills. Between the two conductors, the members are in great hands."

The Crossmen food trailer is a small commercial kitchen on wheels that has served the corps since 1998. With volunteer help in Houston, the trailer is currently undergoing essential repairs to the floor, wiring, and plumbing for the 2010 season.
Besides the essential repairs, there are a few pieces of equipment that would make a huge difference in the operations of the food service, but the corps does not have the budget for these improvements. For example:
* It takes over 90 minutes to heat water and cook pasta for the corps because of the small, old stove burners * The volunteers often run out of hot water for washing dishes, and the current heater guzzles propane * An 8 foot section of countertop and stove workspace is based on an old laminate countertop just 25 inches off the ground - almost unusable for most food preparation purposes

In the coming months, college students will bid farewell to another school year as they get set for long summer days filled with nearly 500 hours of part time work; a chance for them to earn cash for school expenses. Participants of Drum Corps International’s performing groups, on the other hand, will leave home at the end of May devoting hundreds of hours of rehearsal for the opportunity to travel and perform in front of thousands of fans across the United States … a far cry from the "average" lifestyle of a typical undergraduate.
Approximately 70 percent of current drum corps members are full-time students at higher educational institutions. Understanding the value of drum corps experience for students and the challenges faced with textbook and tuition increases, members of the Friends of DCI continue to support the performers of DCI’s elite groups with scholarship opportunities.
