Healy Hired As YEA! Performing Ensembles Director

In a morning meeting of the full office team for Youth Education in the Arts (YEA!), George Hopkins, CEO for YEA!, announced that Megh Healy had accepted the position of Director of Performing Ensembles effective Monday, March 20.

Indeed, Megh was the one office team member NOT at the morning gathering as she is "on tour", with Winter Brass, an ensemble of Cadets and Crossmen members, past and present, who are visiting area high schools and middle schools to promote music, band, and the value of participation in the world of ensemble musical performance. Megh currently is the tour manager for the Cadets, and, since January, she has been filling in as the assistant manager for fund development. A key part of Megh’s role has been the coordination and development of the volunteer councils for the US Scholastic Band Association, the Cadets and the Crossmen.

To address the overload of tasks present for Megh and others, Deb Rogerson, tour manager for the Crossmen, has agreed to come to the aid of the team by beginning work March 20, in an interim role within the performing ensembles department. Working with Tiffany Duncan, the assistant director of performing ensembles, Deb and Megh, with some guidance from Hopkins, will take on the preparations for tour for the two corps, the work of fund raising, and the various needs of the emerging ensemble activity within YEA!
