Reading Buccaneers 2nd Annual Spring Preview

The Reading Buccaneers Drum & Bugle Corps today announced the concert lineup for the Second Annual “Spring Preview,” an indoor drum and bugle corps concert to be held on Saturday May 13, 2006 at Twin Valley High School, Elverson, Pennsylvania. The concert is organized and run in conjunction with the Twin Valley Music Boosters, and proceeds from the concert will benefit both organizations.

“Our inaugural “Spring Preview” last year was such a success, and we learned so much from running it, that we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to have it again this year,” said event organizer and Buccaneers Business Manager Jerry Ware. “Over the years, we have built a wonderful relationship with the Twin Valley School District, which so generously opens its high school to the Buccaneers for winter rehearsal camps. This is our way of saying ‘thank-you’ to Fine Arts Department Chair Dan Long and the entire Twin Valley community.” As a new feature this year, Pennsylvania music educators may receive up to three hours of Act 48 credit for attending the rehearsal sessions during the afternoon.

Corps scheduled to appear include the Yankee Rebels Alumni, Skyliners Alumni, Reilly Raiders Alumni, Reading Buccaneers Alumni, Music Express, Jersey Surf, New York Skyliners, and the 2005 Drum Corps Associates World Champion Reading Buccaneers. It will be the first public performance of the Buccaneers’ 2006 production, entitled “Exotic Impressions,” featuring the music of Maurice Ravel, Claude Debussy and Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov. All tickets are general admission and are $10 apiece.
