Bridgemen Tournament Of Stars
When people speak of drum corps the word TRADITION always comes up. Please join the BAYONNE BRIDGEMEN ALUMNI DRUM & BUGLE CORPS as they re-ignite an old tradition and begin a new tradition of hosting the TOURNAMENT OF STARS INVITATIONAL on Saturday, June 10th, 2006 at 6:00 P.M. at the Don Ahern Veteran’s Memorial Stadium, which is located at the foot of 26th St, by the bay in Bayonne, New Jersey.
Last held in 1987, the TOURNAMENT OF STARS is the culmination of a long time dream to see the Bayonne Bridgemen return to the world of drum corps. Under the direction of George Lavelle, Jr., The Bridgemen will be performing their 2006 field show for the first time. They will be performing Pagliacci/Land of Make Believe; My Favorite Things; Summer of ’42; In the Stone and ending with the classic William Tell Overture. With horn arrangements by Larry Kerschner, percussion by Dennis Delucia and the color guard headed by Matt Hurley, the Bridgemen anticipate bringing you to your feet many times throughout the evening. This is an evening of entertainment that can not be missed!!!
Also in exhibition performance that evening are: the Emerald Grenadears All Girl Alumni Corps of Dover, New Jersey; Blessed Sacrament Golden Knights Alumni Corps from Newark, New Jersey; the Yankee Rebels of Baltimore, Maryland; Light Brigade of Revere, Massachusetts; Park City Pride of Bridgeport, Connecticut; the New York Skyliners Alumni Corps of Garfield, New Jersey; the Hawthorne Caballeros Alumni Corps from Hawthorne, New Jersey; the Jersey Surf Junior Corps of Berlin, New Jersey; and the Bushwackers Senior Corps from Harrison New Jersey.
Tickets are on sale at the Bridgemen’s website, www.bridgemen.info and can be purchased both there and by mail. Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the gate for adults, $5 for children 6-12 and children under 5 are free of charge. If you plan on ordering your tickets through the website or by mail please plan to do so by June 1st so as to receive them in time for June 10th. If you wish to order them by mail please send a check or money order to BRIDGEMEN TOS TICKETS, P.O. Box 354, Bayonne, NJ 07002. Be sure to enclose a self addressed, stamped envelope and also how many tickets you want for this event. All tickets are for general admission seating. Those who buy their tickets in advance can enter the stadium at 4:45 P.M. that day instead of at 5:00 P.M.
