Revolution April Camp Update

| |

With Texas heat on the rise, many find comfort being indoors. Last weekend marked record highs, but it didn’t keep Revolution Drum and Bugle Corps from stepping up to the challenge in preparation for the long tour ahead. The successful camp was held at Canyon High School in New Braunfels, Texas.

Many goals were accomplished with the help of the Volunteer Support Staff, Administration Staff, Instructors, Members, and RevoBoosters. The brass and percussion were able to utilize the large stadium. They marched and played the Opener, Kaval Sviri. Guard learned Opener drill and work routine. They were also able to march and perform the Opener with the Brass and Percussion.

Percussion worked hard all weekend to learn the Drum Feature. During Show and Tell on Sunday, they were able to showcase their talents to the parents present in the crowd. Brass also learned "Texas our Texas" for the Texas Drum Corps Preview event (on Saturday, June 24th in Austin, TX).

“All I can say about April Camp was that it was very progressive. We got the drills on Friday night and learned all twelve drill charts for the opener in under three hours. The brass line got the ballet of the third piece and so far it is coming along well too. The battery line and the pit played the (second or third?) piece together, and for the first time back from December camp. The Guard learned the routine to the opener and put it to the opener drill charts too,” said corps member, DJ Kelton.

The corps members were not the only ones hard at work. The Revolution Boosters had a meeting Sunday that informed the many parents in attendance of the fundraisers, tour schedule and volunteer opportunities ahead. The Boosters voted and approved By-Laws and several other proposals to support the Drum and Bugle Corps.
