Blue Stars Prepping For Return To Division I

From dawn to dusk, the sound of bugles and drums echo throughout the grounds at Camp Decorah, the training camp for the La Crosse Blue Stars Drum and Bugle Corps.

Almost 130 corps members have been practicing their routines and music for more than a week in rain and sunshine and among biting mosquitoes at the Boy Scouts’ camp outside of Holmen.

They know they are embarking on something big — a return to Division I, or open class, in Drum Corps International.

But hardly anyone mentions it.
