Music City Legend Announces Free Concert

Music City Legend Drum and Bugle Corps will host its third annual Family Day concert on Saturday evening, June 24th, at Goodpasture Christian Academy on Due West Avenue in Madison, starting at 7:30. The gates open at 6:00. The event serves as the final dress rehearsal for the corps prior to their first contest of the 2006 season the following night in Lexington, Kentucky. Admission to Saturday’s family-friendly Family Day concert is FREE.

“We practice all winter for the summer performance season and Family Day is often the only chance that the family and friends of our members ever get to see the full corps on the field, in uniform, and in performance,” noted Scott Rhodes, the drum corps’ executive director. “The corps will travel to Kentucky, Virginia, Georgia, and New York this season. Our members put a lot of time into perfecting their show for the judges and be entertaining for our fans.”

After the contest in Lexington Sunday evening, the corps will travel to Sevierville for a rare Monday night contest, “but you’ll have to pay admission to see us there.” Rhodes admits that the increasing cost of travel will keep some fans at home this season, which runs through Labor Day weekend’s world championship show in Rochester, New York.
