Successful Opening Weekend For SCV

Mid-June brings excitement to many as the drum corps season starts and this past weekend was no exception. There was lots of anticipation leading up to the opening show, Pacific Procession, as both the Vanguard and Vanguard Cadets have spent the past few weeks preparing for their public debut.

Pacific Procession – 6/17/06
A good-size crowd filled the stadium at Cal State East Bay in Hayward, CA on Saturday night for the 40th annual Pacific Procession. They were treated to solid opening performances by all of the corps, including an encore by the Vanguard. Both the Vanguard and Vanguard Cadets ended the evening about 4 points away from their Blue Devils counterparts and looking forward to closing that gap as the season progresses.
