Vegas Bound: First Stop New Jersey!

| |

After a successful first performance at the Powder Springs, GA DCI show last Friday, the CorpsVets will bring their “Trip to Vegas” production to the Dover, NJ DCA competition next Saturday. Anyone lucky enough to catch both the Powder Springs and Dover shows will notice a marked difference in the CorpsVets performances.

The first 2 production numbers, Luck be a Lady and Feelin’ Good, were featured at the Powder Springs show and CV hometown fans were treated to the rousing favorite, Georgia. The full competitive version of the show will be debuted in Dover on July 1st. The addition of two full rehearsal days immediately following the Powder Springs show and rehearsal sessions at the CorpsVets housing site in East Stroudsburg, PA will net the corps a very confident, competitive performance that is sure to be a crowd favorite in Dover.

The CorpsVets will begin their road trip at the American Legion Post 233 in Loganville, GA on Thursday night, where they will load the buses for the 12-hour trip north. With the largest corps in CV history, the buses will be packed full of members for the “short” ride to East Stroudsburg University (www3.esu.edu). Veteran CV members note that this will be a pretty easy bus ride when compared to the 20+ hour trips to NY and Northern PA.

Friday will be a rehearsal day for the corps with the annual Corps Talent Show being held on Friday evening. Saturday will bring another rehearsal day after which the corps will load the busses and head out to “An Evening with the Corps” Saturday night at Dover Middle School. To round out the full weekend for the CorpsVets, they will march in the Havre De Grace Independence Day Parade in Maryland on Sunday. This should be good practice for the “WSB Salute to America” parade in downtown Atlanta on Tuesday July 4.

Be sure to catch the CorpsVets this summer as they bring “A Trip to Vegas” to a stadium near you. Look for dates and locations of performances at www.corpsvets.org.

CV still has 1 Soprano and 1 Contrabass spot open. Please contact the corps immediately if you are still looking for a summer drum corps home! CLICK HERE!
