Frontier To Host Brass Hysteria

| |

FPAA (the umbrella organization for Frontier Drum & Bugle Corps) hosts a *unique* concert event the last weekend in August every year called ‘Brass Hysteria’. This is not just merely a drum corps event, it’s also a rock concert, dance recital, comedy hour, and features many *local* performers of rather *different* talents. We are working on finalizing the performing list of groups for 2006, but the tentative list is included in the blurb below:

"Brass Hysteria is a concert event of Drum & Bugle Corps, Marching Bands, Dance Troupes, Ska and Jazz bands, comedians, hip hop groups, and lots of surprises. Sponsored by the Frontier Performing Arts Association of Dallas TX, groups tentatively scheduled to appear include Frontier Drum & Bugle Corps, Gulf Coast Sound Drum & Bugle Corps, Texas United Shrine Corps, The Outlaws, Open Range Brass Ensemble, Gulf Wind, Dallas Tap Dazzlers, Deguello Performance Troupe, Lisa Lazo with Dawson’s New Range Band, TrueHeart, Southbound Interstate 35, Texas Instruments Jazz Band, Inner City All Stars, and more."

All profits from this event go to helping support FPAA and it’s ensembles. Tickets are all general admission, and just went on sale this morning. Tickets are $10 and are available at:

( and search for Brass Hysteria if the link doesn’t work for you).

Brass Hysteria will be held at Pennington Field in Bedford, TX from 5:30pm – 8:30pm. There will be concessions, as well as vendors (we still have vendor spots, if you are interested in setting up a booth for your performing group, or arts-related business…. OR artist booths). There are a few surprises in store as well. If you want to be kept up to date on the latest, subscribe to the Frontier Echo at (under Register, it will ask you for your name and email, once you get the verification email, just confirm and you will be on the Frontier Echo mailing list)

We will be updating our website tonight with pictures and logos of acts that are confirmed to appear at

If you are or know of a band/orchestra/choral director and would like to bring your students to the event, we do have ‘free passes’ available. Contact me at director [at] frontierperformingarts [dot] org for information.

Thanks! and hope to see you and your friends at the event!
