Gulf Coast Sound Receives Honor From City Of Houston

Gulf Coast Drum Corps Associates, the governing body for Gulf Coast Sound Drum & Bugle Corps, is sponsoring the first ever DCA show in Texas on July 29th. In recognition of this the City of Houston issued a proclamation stating that Saturday, July 29th, 2006 is officially "Gulf Coast Sound Drum & Bugle Corps Day." Several staff and Board members were present to receive the Proclamation and were personally congratulated by Mayor Bill White.

The Proclamation in-part reads:

“On July 25, 2006, The GCS Drum & Bugle Corps will be honored during the public session of Houston City Council. The City of Houston congratulates and commends the GCS Drum & Bugle Corps on this important occasion, and extends best wishes for continued success.

Therefore, I, Bill White, Mayor of the City of Houston, hereby proclaim July 29th, 2006 as Gulf Coast Sound Drum & Bugle Corps Day.”

Gulf Coast Sound and GCDCA would like to thank the City of Houston, Mayor Bill White, Councilwoman Shelly Sekula-Gibbs, and the entire City Council for this recognition.
