Memphis Sound Director Steps Down

On August 18, 2006, Trey Moore resigned his position as Director of the Memphis Sound Drum and Bugle Corps. It was Trey’s long time dream to bring drum corps back to the Memphis area so that today’s youth could experience the same joys and challenges he experienced as a member of the Memphis Blues Brass Band Drum and Bugle Corps in the early 1980s. Trey’s dream became a reality in the fall of 2002 when the Memphis Sound held their first ever auditions at the University of Memphis. In just its first year, the corps barely missed finals finishing 14th at the division II/III championships in Orlando, FL. The corps has been a Grand Finalist every year since then including a 9th place overall finish at the Division II/III championships in Madison, WI this past year.
