2007 Percussion Team In Place At Carolina Crown

In keeping with the corps progressive development of the most recent years, it is with excitement and pleasure that Carolina Crown announces the Percussion Faculty for 2007.

“With the earlier announcement of Lee Beddis (Arranger/Caption Supervisor) joining the corps design team, we can now name the complete percussion faculty,” said Crown Program Coordinator, Jim Coates. “Our goal entering into 2007 is to enhance, elevate and solidify the experience of the percussion section in terms of both education and performance. With having Beddis handling the day to day management of the section, we have been able to secure a well educated and experienced Tech faculty that can bring the renewed commitment of excitement and aggressive style of playing.”

Lee Beddis added, “Joining the team as Front Ensemble Arranger and instructor is Andrew Markworth. Andrew’s work with Rhythm X and Centerville High School has been impressive over the past couple of years, rewarding him with numerous medals. Andrew will add depth and great sense of creativity to the design process.

Frank Chapple will be joining the team in the role of Percussion Coordinator. Frank has been a valuable part of our program history at Phantom Regiment, Glassmen and Crossmen. He brings a level of expertise and consistency in coordinating the percussion ensemble’s daily requirements.

The technical staff will consist of Zach Schlicher, Rudy Garcia, James Sparling, Eric Kraft, Ian Hale, Steve Ballard and Rob Keedy. Each of these technicians brings years of experience and knowledge of successfully educating and building a quality percussion program.”

Crown’s Executive Director Kevin Smith notes, “Having this group of educators join our already devoted faculty fits right in with the organization’s mission: Developing Life Long Excellence in Young People through a Superior and Challenging Arts Education Experience. Please join me in welcoming these fine young teachers by reading their bios at www.carolinacrown.org.”
