Capital Sound Names Clark Brass Caption Head

Capital Sound is proud to announce that jazz trumpeter Bill Clark, a backup player with such artists as Wynton Marsalis and Doc Severinsen, will lead the brass caption for the 2007 season. Clark comes to the corps with considerable drum corps experience and a bachelor’s degree in music education from Hartwick College/State University of New York – Oneonta. He also holds a master’s degree in music composition from the University of Florida.

“I couldn’t be happier having Bill join our team,” said corps director Marc Gofstein. “He has both the professional and teaching experience I was looking for to give our kids the best brass education.”

In addition to his education, Bill has had his own jazz group and has performed regularly with various orchestras in the New York area. He’s also worked with The Magic, Teal Sound, Blue Saints, Rochester Crusaders, and the Rochester Firebirds.
