GLASSMEN Tap Eric Ward To Head Percussion

| |

GLASSMEN are pleased announce the appointment of Eric Ward as the Percussion Caption Head for the 2007 summer season. Eric joined with the team as staff during the 2006 season, and was an extremely positive addition to the program.

An accomplished teacher and clinician, Eric brings a wealth of experience teaching percussion to young people. He has spent over a decade in the marching activity, including six years on percussion staff with The Cadets, and a year teaching with Phantom Regiment. A native Ohioan, Eric polished his percussion skills in the Morehead State University drumline. Currently working on his masters degree at Troy University, Eric also directs one of their jazz chamber ensembles, and consults with the Troy University Marching Trojans. He is also a percussion consultant for the Rhythm X Indoor Percussion Ensemble.

While Eric Ward will be in charge of managing the section as caption head, veteran GLASSMEN percussion staffers Chris Hestin and Chad Heiny will be returning to write and design the percussion book for the season. "I am very excited to have Eric on board," said Hestin."Eric’s achievements in the activity speak for themselves – and I look forward to a successful collaboration with him here at the GLASSMEN!"

Executive Director Brian Hickman concurs. "The percussion section has always been a strength here at the GLASSMEN, both in musicality and innovation, and Eric’s experience promises to take the section to new heights." Welcome to the GLASSMEN family, Eric!
