The Madison Scouts have announced that Matt Gregg has been hired as 2007 Program Director. “Matt Gregg’s involvement with the corps can only mean great things,” said Corps Director Mark Dunton. “His longevity with the organization, coupled with extensive knowledge and incredible ability to work with diverse, creative and talented people make him the perfect choice for this role.”

Gregg is the Associate Director of Bands at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, where he conducts the Symphony Band, Pep Band and Marching Band. He also teaches music theory and performs with a highly regarded faculty chamber group, the Rountree Ensemble. Gregg has numerous arrangements and compositions to his credit, including works for both concert and marching groups, many of which have been performed by the Madison Scouts.

Gregg has been involved with the Madison Scouts Drum & Bugle Corps since 1982. Over the course of the past two and one-half decades he has been a member and soloist with the Madison Jr. Scouts and Madison Scouts, as well as a member of the teaching, design and administrative teams. During his tenure as a member, he won an unprecedented six consecutive individual titles – 5 on French Horn and 1 on Mellophone. He has also served the Capital Sound as both brass instructor and corps director, for which he was honored as the DCI Division II Director of the Year in 2002.
