Crusaders Corps Kicks Off Season

The sounds of horns and drums reverberated throughout Hope Hall school as the Rochester Crusaders Drum and Bugle Corps kicked off its 60th season of performance Sunday.

The corps held an open house that doubled as the start of practice for the competitive drum corps season.

More than 100 people, ranging in age from 14 to 56, are vying for spots on the corps for a competitive season that starts in June and wraps up with a national championship competition at PAETEC Park. Participants came from as far away as the Pittsburgh and Toronto areas, executive director Mike Linton said.
