Pioneer Names Scheckler 2007 Brass Caption Heaad

It is official! The Pioneer Corps has hired Mr. James Scheckler for the position Brass Caption Head, as well as Full Ensemble Coordinator for the 2007 Season. Mr. Scheckler holds a Bachelor of Music in Performance degree from the Boston Conservatory of Music. He received his Music Education studies from Ohio State University and Graduate studies in Music Education from the University of Michigan. His teaching experience includes Westerville South High School of Ohio (BOA Regional and National Finalist), Novi High School of Michigan (Regional Finalist and State Championship Runner-up), Hudsonville High School of Michigan (State Finalist and Festival Disney National Champions) where he currently serves as Orchestra Director.

His judging experience includes Drum Corps International, Drum Corps Midwest, Bands of America, MCGC (Indoor Percussion) and many state marching band associations throughout the country. He has conducted concert ensembles that have consistently received superior ratings at the District and State Organizational Festivals. James has been on the Executive Boards of the Indiana State School Music Association and the Michigan Competing Band Association. Having the wealth of experience as an educator and adjudicator of both DCM and DCI, we are very fortunate to have him become part of our Pioneer Family. Welcome aboard, Mr. Scheckler!
