River City Regiment (RCR) is pleased to announce its staff for the 2007 season, with all four Caption Heads returning. Leading the staff for the second year in a row is Staff Coordinator Cecile Freeman. Cecile started with RCR as the Color Guard Caption Head in 2003, and has over 30 years of drum corps experience. She is excited to have her staff back!

Leading the percussion caption is Dan Hudson, who has an extensive drum corps background, having marched in the Sacramento Freelancers snare line from 1987-1990. He joined their percussion staff in 1991, and worked continuously with both the corps and later the Freelancers’ Winter Drum line through 2004. Dan joined the River City Regiment as Percussion Caption Head in 2004. The technicians for the 2007 season are Shealley Gumiran-Halderman (Pit/Arranger), Jason Kelly, and Paul Marr (Battery/Arranger).

Back for his second year as the Color Guard Caption Head is Vince Velasquez. Vincent has an extensive background in instructing guards, working with many high schools throughout Northern California, and a number of WGI competitors. His groups have won numerous awards, including being finalists in WGI classifications over the last several years. Sharon Wilson will be joining Vince to assist him throughout the 2007 season.

Paul Mendoza returns for his fifth year with RCR; fourth as Visual Caption Head. Paul has participated with several nationally acclaimed Drum Corps such as the Sacramento Freelancers, Santa Clara Vanguard and the Cavaliers Drum & Bugle Corps. He also performed with the WGI Championship Gold Medallist San Jose Raiders World Guard. Marching Techs for the 2007 season find two former marching members of the Sacramento Mandarins, Earl Halderman (second year with RCR) and Gabe Manlutac.

Leading the way for the brass is Caption Head George Miles. George has almost 40 years of drum corps experience, having marched four years with the Phantom Regiment Drum & Bugle Corps and three years with the United States Marines Drum & Bugle Corps in Washington, DC. George has instructed the Phantom Regiment, the Phantom Regiment Cadets and most recently the Sacramento Mandarins. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Northern Illinois University, and has taught in the public schools for 27 years. This will be his third season with RCR.
