Sal Salas Returns To Glassmen
The GLASSMEN are very pleased to announce the appointment of Sal Salas as Program Coordinator for the 2007 summer season. Sal was involved with the GLASSMEN organization from 1993-2002 initially as the Color Guard Caption Head, and later served as the Program Coordinator. "Sal and I worked together at the GLASSMEN for over six years, and created some very special memories. I look forward to starting the next chapter in our creative relationship", states GLASSMEN Executive Director Brian Hickman. "It is good to have him home!"
Sal’s career in the Pageantry Arts has spanned over 41 years, and has not only been diverse, but extremely successful in all areas. Serving as everything from instructor to designer to director to judge, Sal’s commitment to youth and excellence has seen no bounds. Highlights of his pageantry resume include his recent position as the Executive Director of the Madison Scouts, his involvement as a judge for Winter Guard International (as well as various circuits throughout Wisconsin, Ohio and Illinois), and his role as the founder and director of the five time Winter Guard International Gold Medalist ‘The State Street Review’. Sal’s honors include his being named the 2005 Drum Corps International Director of the Year, and being a recipient of the prestigious WGI Laurel Award in 1993.
"I’m really excited about being back home with the Glassmen," said Salas. "The organization has always provided everyone involved with ‘An Experience of a Lifetime’ – and I’m glad to continue to be a part of that tradition".
Welcome home, Sal!
